What is Melanated Vault™?

Melanated Vault™ is a curated marketplace and auction house that elevates melanated creativity, craftsmanship, and cultural legacy across fine art and artisanal works.

How do I create an account?

Select Join the Vault, verify your email, then complete your profile to begin collecting.

How do auctions work?

Each auction shows an opening offer, current leading offer, and countdown. When time ends, the highest confirmed offer acquires the work.

Can I buy without bidding?

Yes. Works marked for direct sale can be acquired immediately at the listed price.

What is my Vault Balance?

Your Vault Balance is wallet funds you add for faster bidding and checkout. You can deposit or request payouts from your dashboard.

How is authenticity verified?

Works are vetted by our curatorial team and include a Certificate of Provenance or Certificate of Authenticity, with artist signature when applicable.

Do you ship internationally?

Yes. We use insured global delivery. Customs or import fees may apply per destination policy.

What is the return policy?

Most listings include a 14 day return window. If a work arrives damaged or materially different from the description, contact support for resolution.

How do I track bids and purchases?

Use the Vault Dashboard and Vault Transaction Log for offers, acquisitions, deposits, payouts, and invoices.

Which categories do you carry?

Fine Art, Digital & New Media, Cultural & Heritage Works, Decorative Arts, Wearable Art, Sculpture & Form, Limited Editions & Collectibles, Conceptual Works, Functional Design, Emerging Artist Works, Boudoir & Figurative Works, Textile & Fiber Creations, Artisan Crafts, Photography & Visual Stories, Furniture & Object Design.

Can I retract a bid?

Bids are generally binding until the auction ends. If you made an obvious error, contact support immediately with the listing ID for review.

How do watchlists and alerts work?

Tap Save or Follow on a listing or artist to receive email or dashboard alerts about bids, price changes, and closing times.

Do you provide shipping quotes before I bid?

Many listings display estimated shipping at checkout. For custom crates or oversized works, request a pre-bid quote via the Contact link on the listing.

Is local pickup available?

On select listings, yes. Availability appears in the Shipping section. Pickup requires ID verification and a signed receipt.

Which currencies are shown?

Prices display in the marketplace currency with a live estimate for your region when available. Your bank or card sets final conversion rates.

Do you insure shipments?

Yes. Works ship with insurance and tracking unless otherwise noted. Claims require unboxing photos and carrier documentation.

Can I request a provenance summary?

Yes. Listings include known provenance. For deeper research, request a summary from our team when available for that work.

What happens if my payment fails?

Your order is held briefly so you can retry or use another method. Repeated failures may release the work to the next eligible offer.
